Pioneering Quality with HD Voice

Since autumn 2019, Deutsche Telekom has been working with partners to test and introduce HD Voice in international carrier interconnections.

HD Voice provides improved quality of service that results in a better user experience and longer call durations. HD Voice is compliant with future high-quality interconnections.

International HD Voice is key to bringing crystal clear voice quality to our end customers. Since implementation, we have seen a 25% increase in satisfaction according to the Mean Opinion Score. In addition, HD Voice shares have increased to almost 10% of total international voice traffic.

HD Voice is supported by the codecs AMR-WB for mobile traffic and G.722 for fixed networks. It can be put into operation if HD Voice codecs are set as first choice in affected switches and all involved end customers work with HD capable devices.
