New Strategic Black Sea Point of Presence (PoP) from Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier
Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier today announced the launch of a new PoP within their extensive high-capacity Lambda Connect network at Balchik, Bulgaria. This greatly extends the telco provider’s already expansive DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) connectivity architecture in Europe and the Balkans. It also creates a gateway to the shortest route connecting Europe to Asia.
The location of this PoP is highly strategic due to increasing transport traffic between Asia and Europe. It thus provides additional capacities with reliable, high quality and fast connectivity. Customers can utilize network capacities up to 100Gbps and benefit from superior latency based on Ciena’s industry leading WaveLogic technology.
Beatrix Kapitany, Head of Transport Network Solutions at Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier said, “Our Balchik landing station helps answer the growing demand for traffic in countries such as Kazakhstan, China, India, or Saudi Arabia. This development on our homogeneous DWDM network offers cost efficiency and end-to-end management.”
