Lambda Network Expansion: Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier Adds unique diversity option on Budapest-Frankfurt Route

Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier today announced the launch of a high-capacity route which provides customers with a new diversity option between Budapest, Hungary, and Frankfurt am Main, Germany. This strategic addition to the organization’s cutting-edge Lambda network accelerates data flow between the two cities.

The geographically unique route offers several key advantages. It bypasses traditionally congested areas, such as Bratislava, Vienna, and Prague, via our Hostim hub. At the same time, it considerably increases network capacity in the region, allowing for more efficient transport and performance. Additionally, the path reduces latency for data travelling between Eastern and Western Europe. This is an important consideration, given Frankfurt’s role as a major international data exchange point.

Moreover, this route provides a competitive advantage, as it is not typically used by competitors and is less frequented. That opens outstanding opportunities for faster and more reliable connectivity. The new Budapest-Frankfurt connection also enhances network resilience by adding another layer of redundancy, ensuring businesses are better protected against potential outages or disruptions in other parts of the network.

Beatrix Kapitány, Head of Network Infrastructure Services said, “With our unique Budapest-Frankfurt extension, we at Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier again demonstrate our commitment to advancing global connectivity solutions. We continuously enhance our high-performance Lambda network to meet the growing data demands and expectations of our customers.”
