Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier hits the heights at WCA 2020
At the World Communication Awards 2020, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier has taken home first prize in two categories – Best Wholesale Operator and The Security Leadership Award. These add to the two prizes that we won just last week at the Global Carrier Awards.
We are pleased that our huge efforts to stay at the cutting-edge of the wholesale segment, while maintaining a positive and rewarding company culture, have been recognized by the industry. And it is testament to our team that we have managed to maintain our focus despite the major challenges presented by COVID-19.
Our award in the Best Wholesale Operator category comes on the back of a past year that has seen Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier consolidate its offerings and continue to focus on innovation in areas including digitization, artificial intelligence and big data, as well as partnerships with those both within and outside the telecoms industry.
These moves have been geared towards improving our agility in a market demanding ever faster and more cost-effective services – and should be helped further by the streamlining brought about by our new migration into Telekom Deutschland. They have also stood us in good stead to continue forging on during the COVID-19 pandemic, when businesses have needed to manoeuvre quickly to keep ahead of changes.
We recently introduced Europe’s first 800G network to connect our data centers in Vienna, Austria, while we have continued to develop our IPX network and worked with other international operators to help improve settlements via blockchain.
Meanwhile, our award for Security Leadership is a big win for us in one of our key focus areas. At the heart of our success here is our 360° Defense Strategy, which provides features including backbone security for IP Transit customers, secure cloud connectivity through Secure Cloud Connect, data center mirroring, and fraud-fighting voice and SMS+ offerings and firewalls.
We also offer much-needed protection against the rising global incidence of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, with safeguards against both volumetric and application-based attacks that are even able to deal with those on the terabit scale.
Recognizing the need for increasingly efficient and cost-effective options in this area, we recently moved up a level with our DDoS options by unveiling our DDoS Defense Platinum service. This allows customers to avoid the need for having costly mitigation devices with lengthy installation times taking up space on their own premises by shifting the functions of this equipment onto Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier’s backbone network.
These two awards collectively reflect Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier’s strength across the board – in our customer solutions and high-level security offerings.
