Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier Wins Big at CC Global 2021
Bonn, September 3, 2021 – The CC Global 2021 award ceremony took place in Berlin last night, where Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier came away a big winner, with a grand total of three awards.
The wholesale carrier took first place in the ‘Best Global Operator of the Year’ as well as ‘Best CEE Regional Operator’ categories. Those two wins cover a massive area across the globe and demonstrate the dominant position the company has taken in the marketplace. In addition, their new Encrypted Lambda solution earned honors as ‘Best Voice/Data Service Innovation’.
The panel of judges were convinced by the provider’s numerous innovations, expansions and solutions over the past 12 months. Many industry firsts were noted, such as their European 800G network, Premium IPX solution, global carrier VoLTE-to-VoLTE interconnect or hybrid cloud implementation for international interconnect services. The carrier has also taken measures to expand and enhance their IPX network. This is a necessary step for the entire marketplace, in order to be ready for new and upcoming technologies.

Nafziger said that he is particularly happy for the acknowledgement of Encrypted Lambda as the Best Voice/Data Service Innovation. This is an encryption solution that protects data as it travels across networks and was developed through partnership with Ciena. It is unique because it uses Layer 1 and is hardware instead of software based. Using on-premise hardware lowers both latency and costs because software is CPU intense, requires more expertise and manpower.
