Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier signs signaling agreement with Tele2 Group
BONN, GERMANY – December 07, 2018 – Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, the international wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom, has signed a deal with Tele2 Group. Starting in the middle of December, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier will provide international signaling services for all of Tele2’s network operations.
Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier will provide a secure solution via multiple accesses to its’ global Smart IPX network as a way to comply with Tele2’s operational and geo-redundancy requirements. The telco operator, headquartered in Kista, Sweden, offers mobile, fixed broadband, data network, cable TV and content services to over 16 million customers in eight countries.
Gergely Vadas, Head of Mobile Services at Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, said, “We are honored that Tele2 trusts our solution and joined our growing list of partners. It is an important proof point of our roaming enablement strategy. It is highly critical that the technical network is able to support roaming. Also expressing his satisfaction with the agreement was Thomas Björklund, EVP Mobile Technology at Tele2. He notes, “By utilizing Deutsche Telekom’s solution for international signaling, we will increase quality for all our roaming customers and complement our networks with a solid and stable solution.” The agreement between Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier and Tele2 will facilitate international signaling services to Tele2’s customers in Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands and Sweden.
