This March, WAS #13 goes fully virtual again. Experts from across the mobile ecosystem come together to address challenges and opportunities that arise from the transforming mobile landscape.

The conference themes:
Apart from discussing challenges and opportunities in roaming, the WAS #13 virtual conference will address a wide variety of topics. Those include end-to-end quality, A2P Messaging, 5G, VoLTE, IoT, IPX and much more.

Deutsche Telekom is hosting a roundtable on 5G Roaming enablement on 16th of March at 4 pm CET.
In this roundtable we will discuss with representatives from NTT, T-Mobile US and GSMA, the status, wishes and pain point for operators around 5G roaming. We will also talk about the need of multi-protocol, multi-security solutions and architectural components we are launching to help the migration from older technologies, and to provide fast and seamless connectivity to support early movers.

Our further activities include:

  • On Wednesday, March 17, at 9 a.m.
    Frederico Homberg, Head of Business Development, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, will be part of the Billing, Charing & Settlement Live Stream discussion and introduce "the  Blockchain in Wholesale Roaming" project.
  • On Wednesday, March 17, at 12 a.m.
    Gabor Kotalik, Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier, will participate in the panel "IPX & Quality" and showcase a joint Deutsche Telekom/Orange Proof of Concept on exchanging KPIs using Blockchain.

 

WAS is one of the largest working groups within the GSMA. It develops roaming and interconnect agreement templates and wholesale charging principles, in addition to supporting various GSMA programs.
