GOWEX spreads its free Wi-Fi service through a roaming agreement with Deutsche Telekom

Madrid, Bonn--January 15, 2013--GOWEX (GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Alternext), a market leader in "Wireless Smart Cities" and network creation in public transportation, announced a roaming agreement with Deutsche Telekom International Carrier Sales & Solutions (ICSS), the international wholesale arm of Deutsche Telekom today. This agreement will allow the expansion of GOMEX’s Wi‑Fi connection service to many different European countries, as well as the United States. Moreover, GOWEX will be able to provide its clients with an In‑flight Wi‑Fi service through Deutsche Telekom’s own premium In-flight service, available in important international flight companies.

Deutsche Telekom, one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies, is represented in about 50 countries (Germany, Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the United States, etc.) and counts on its Wi‑Fi service with up to 29,000 hotspots located in airports, railway stations, hotels, or restaurants.

Deutsche Telekom ICSS will reinforce its international roaming service through GOWEX's "Wi‑Fi Cities," which is present in public areas, in means of public transportation, or on the streets of more than 60 cities all around the world (Madrid, Paris, Dublin, Dubai, Buenos Aires, etc.).

GOWEX's Wi-Fi Roaming Platform
GOWEX's Registered Wi-Fi Roaming Platform consolidates itself year after year, constituting one of the main means of recurrent income for the company and supporting the sustainability of the company's business model to a large extent. Revenue for the "network" services (access, roaming, offloading, interconnection) included in GOWEX's Wireless Division increased by 79% between 2010 and 2011 and represented 22.4 % of the global receipts in 2011 (€66.7 million).

GOWEX (GOW-MAB, ALGOW-NYSE Euronext) has operated in the telecommunications sector for 13 years. It is currently leading the creation of "Wi-Fi Cities," which offers free and premium Wi-Fi connectivity on the street and in means of public transportation. The company is now exporting its innovative business models to many cities in Europe, South America, Asia, and emerging countries.
In 2010, it became the first and only Spanish SMB to make a "dual listing," publicly traded in MAB (GOW) and NYSE-Euronext (ALGOW). The company's total revenue amounted to €66.7 million in 2011. On July 2011 GOWEX subscribed a €7 million capital increase with 100% over-demand (doubling expectations).
With offices in Madrid, Burgos, Buenos Aires, London, San José (Costa Rica), Paris, and Shanghai, GOWEX develops a sustainable business model in its Wi-Fi networks, based on the efficient and technical quality of their patented platforms: the Roaming Platform, which allows users to connect freely in all the cities, and the Geolocalization Content and Advertisement Platform, which provides financing business through marketing and advertisement agreements.
In 2011, GOWEX joined the Wireless Broadband Alliance and received a prize for the “Best Web Company” on Internet Day.
In February 2012, Jenaro Garcia GOWEX CEO, received the “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” by Ernst & Young in the category of "Innovation”.
